

William (also known as “Billy” to his family and childhood friends) was born July 7, 1972, in Eureka, California to Fae Adel Owsley and William Emmitt Owsley. William was the youngest of four brothers. William spent his childhood amongst the beauty of the Northern California coast and redwood forests. William’s fondest childhood memories include fishing at the jetty and watching black and white horror movies with his dad, as well as exploring the forest with his friends. As a teenager, William was active in sports, including basketball and track and field, and developed an interest in computers and technology.
After graduating from high school in Eureka, William took on various jobs including a position at a truck tire company and later a job as an aquarium manager and clerk at a pet store. He attended College of the Redwoods, where in 1997, he received an associate degree. William later decided to move to Seattle, Washington, where he attended the Seattle Art Institute to study art, 3D modeling, and computer animation.
In 2000, William moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he took a position at a video game developer company, was employed at a company where he fixed and built personal computers, and then later worked for many years as a render farm wrangler at a local architecture firm. In 2007, William met his future wife, Kelly, and they married in 2008. They had two children, Olivia, born in 2011, and Luke, born in 2013. In 2017 William began working for a data center company and remained employed there until his passing.
William ‘s hobbies included video games, creating his own 3D art, and computers. He also had a knack for troubleshooting and fixing things around the house for his family and in-laws. William also enjoyed 3D printing and had taken that up as a serious hobby in the last years of his life. He enjoyed spending time with his kids including pizza and movie nights and playing video games. William was a devoted father and husband and dearly loved and protected his wife and kids. He had a close relationship with his mother and kept in frequent contact with her until her passing in 2021. He was a good listener and friend to many.
William is survived by his wife, Kelly; daughter, Olivia; son, Luke; brother, Dale; brother, Shawn; aunt, Devera; nieces and nephews, Tracy, Michael, and Jessica; mother-in-law, Nancy; brother-in-law, Foster and his wife, Keri; and childhood friend, Leif.
A memorial service will be held at Palm Mortuary - South Jones, located at 1600 South Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV, 89146, United States. The service is scheduled for February 21, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
