
William B. Pike M.D. of Las Vegas, passed away at the Nathan Adelson Hospice of undetected colon cancer on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the age of 81. He was born to Raymond C. and Marybelle Hardy Pike in Cornish, Utah. Dr. Pike was a 47 year resident of Las Vegas. He graduated with a degree from Utah State, followed with a degree in medicine from the University of Utah School of Medicine in 1959. He completed his Psychiatric training at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington D.C. Before moving to Las Vegas, Dr. Pike served as the Head of the Psychiatric Department at Fort Belvoir, Virginia along with keeping a busy private practice. After arriving in Las Vegas in 1968, he continued his private practice and served as Head of the Department of Psychiatry for twenty years at Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital, now known as UMC. Throughout his career, Dr. Pike helped over 100,000 patients. His other interests included all branches of medicine, anthropology, daily exercise, music, and golf. Dr. Pike is survived by his wife, Ruth; sons Russell and Billy of Las Vegas; Thomas (Kristine) Pike of San Antonio, Texas; daughter Suzanne Pike Coleman of Salt Lake City, Utah; seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Dr. Pike will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. He will always remain in our hearts, minds, and souls. We look forward to seeing him again in Heaven. Private services have been held.
