

Zwelithini Marshall Mabhena, a cherished medical professional and gifted musician, passed away on January 25, 2025, at the age of 52. Born on April 27, 1972, Zee lived a life marked by compassion, creativity, and a deep commitment to both healing and the arts.
He dedicated his professional life to the well-being of others, providing comfort and care to countless individuals throughout his medical career. His colleagues and patients will remember him for his gentle demeanor, his unwavering dedication, and his genuine empathy. Zee had also begun taking classes to further his education and become a Nurse Practitioner.
Beyond his medical career, Zee possessed a vibrant passion for music. It was an integral part of his being, a source of joy and expression that he generously shared with those around him. In his leisure hours, he found solace and inspiration in crafting songs and performing them. His music was a reflection of his soul, often thoughtful, sometimes playful, but always authentic. It was a way for him to connect with the world on a deeper level and to share his unique perspective.
Zee was much more than his career and music. He was a spiritual person who believed that good deeds would be returned. He loved to travel and explore. He visited 23 countries (lived in 4 of them), 30 US states (lived in 3), and 5 Canadian provinces. He was also interested in developing colognes, with hopes of marketing them someday.
Zee's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of service and artistry. He understood the importance of nurturing both the body and the spirit, and he excelled at both. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and a profound appreciation for the power of both healing and music. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, patients, and all who were touched by his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and in the melodies he created.
Preceded in death by his father, Richard Mabhena and brother, Makhosini Mabhena; he is survived by his spouse, Joseph Vaudrin; mother, Bessie Jamison; sisters, Bentu Mabhena and Bongiwe Mabhena, and brother Melusi Mabhena.
