

Chet was born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 26, 1930. He was the son of the late Edna Ruth (Glidden) and Chester Whitney Morse.
Chet joined the U.S. Air Force in 1950 and served as an aircraft mechanic in the Korean War. After the war, he graduated from Northrop Aeronautical Institute. This led to a career as an airline mechanic with Northeast Airlines and Delta Airlines for 34 years. His love of aviation extended beyond his career. In retirement he earned his Private Pilot’s license and built a Cessna 150 with the help of his many friends. He enjoyed working on his plane and flying around the Stone Mountain area.
Chet is survived by his loving wife, Ruth N. Morse, of 70 years, his 4 devoted children, son Michael (Terri), son Thomas, daughter Patricia Daegling (Paul), and daughter Susan. He was a grandfather to his 5 grandchildren, David, Kristine Sweeney (Ryan), Daniel, Jennifer Davis (Brooks) and Laura; 2 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Charlotte. He was a loving husband, devoted father and proud “Papa” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A private ceremony for the family will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
