Chris loved the beach and fishing. Every summer he would join his family on vacation on St. George Island, FL. One summer when Chris was 15, the family was spending the day at the beach. He and his father were fishing off the beach when each hooked a large fish. Chris was determined to bring his fish to shore while running down the beach to slowly reel the fish in without the line breaking. His father was more focused on Chris and unfortunately lost his own fish. However, after about a quarter mile of being pulled down the beach Chris successfully brought the fish ashore; H e was so proud he was grinning from ear to ear; Landing the almost 3 foot, 15 lb Cravell Jack without assistance.
Even after growing up and moving out he would still make time to join his parents and spend time with them. 3 foot, 15 lb Cravell Jack without assistance.
He is survived by his parents Gilbert and Mary Thorn, his sweetheart and love muffin Sammie Vickers, his little sister Sara Rauch (who called him (fipher) because she couldn’t pronounce his name when she was little), and his big brother Jason Thorn. Funeral services were kept to family only. A memorial service is being planned for September to join him with the sea he loved. Family will update his Facebook page with more details. The family asked if you would like to make any donations, a GoFundMe page has been set up to help his love, Sammie Vickers, with life expenses while getting through these hard times.
