Ernest A. Hicks

Ernest Allen Hicks of Roswell GA, 88, passed away at home on June 19, 2011.Mr. Hicks was born on December 7, 1922, in St. Louis, Mo. His parents were Mr. Chauncey Denver Hicks and Mrs. Merrie Garrett Hicks. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1943 and served with the 20th Troop Carrier Squadron. He was released with a USAF Commission of 1st. Lt. He graduated from Oklahoma A & M (State) and choose a career in Advertising, working for D’Arcy Advertising Co., Gardner Advertising, Interpublic Group, and McCann Erickson Advertising in Atlanta Ga. He left this field in the 70’s to establish and successfully operate Hicks Construction Co. from which he retired. Mr. Hicks is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Grace S. Hicks; his sons John (Toni Camino) and Tom Hicks, beloved granddaughter Lauren Grace Hicks; and his sister Mrs. Marina Fuhrman,Maplewood, MO. Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his brother, Carol L. Hicks of O’Fallon, MO and his sister Mrs. Millie (Edward) English of Clayton MO.

Mr. Hicks will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
