He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Frances Phelps.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Janice; sister Karen Elliott (Steve); nieces Jennifer and Tiffany; nephew Kris; brother-in-law Lee Presley (Dee) and many friends and church family.
He was in the United States Air Force. He retired from the United States Post Office in 2016. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He played a mall Santa in 2019. He battled cancer for a year with a smile and great faith.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Best Friends or Humane Society.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
