Kenneth Hedley Brockschmidt passed away peacefully on June 24, 2016. He was born on August 8, 1927 to Mayme Hedley and Elmer J. Brockschmidt in St. Louis, MO. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the TKE fraternity at Washington University in St. Louis, where he graduated in 1950. He served in the U.S. Navy and finished his service at the rank of LTJG. Married Jean Grill in 1952 in Saginaw, MI. They began their 59 years together in Sheboygan, WI. Life then took them to Clarendon Hills, IL. He earned an MBA from the Univ. of Chicago in 1968. Then on to Dunwoody, GA where he worked for Georgia Pacific, Chemical Div. from 1969 until retirement. His early passion was sailing and in later life became a tireless volunteer and lovingly cared for his wife Jean until she passed in 2011. He is predeceased by his sister Betty Griffin and brother John. He is survived by his brother Don & wife Rosemary in St. Louis, his daughter Ann in NYC, and his son Paul in Atlanta. Memorial service to be held at Brookdale Big Creek in Roswell, GA on Sat. July 23 at 3pm. No flowers please. Donations to Dunwoody Nature Center and the Alzheimer’s Foundation
