

Nancy Jo Peck, age 80, of Lilburn, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016, after a long battle with lung cancer. She was born in Williamson, WV on March 2, 1936. She was raised in the State of West Virginia, spending most of her childhood in Williamson, Mullens and Page. She graduated from Collins High School (now Oak Hill HS) in 1953. She attended Laird Memorial School of Nursing, graduating in 1956 as a Registered Nurse (RN), and began her Nursing career at Wyoming General Hospital in Mullens, WV.
In 1956, she met and married the love of her life, Marchell Peck, who was enlisted in the Air Force. They were married for 59 years and had 4 children. As the spouse of a career military man, they were stationed in Beaufort, SC, Columbus, OH, Albany, GA and Bermuda, to name a few. Nancy was a devoted wife, loving mother and dedicated Nurse. After her husband retired from the Military, they settled in Lilburn, GA where she spent the last 40 years of her life. She worked at Shallowford Hospital (Emory) beginning in 1976 and retired after 52 years of nursing service in 2008.
Nancy is survived by 4 children: Susan Peck, Michelle Peck, Marchell “Marc” Peck II and Jessica Peck all of Lilburn, Georgia. Felipe Concepcion of Woodstock, Georgia; Melissa Jo Cox of Loganville Georgia; 6 grandchildren, Amanda and Collin Elder, Lauren and Noah Kew, Brice Cox, Cayden Ramsey; Steve Vickers, Donnie Vickers, Nancy Newsome Edwards, Bill Newsome, Robert Newsome, Leslie Spencer, Lana and Gail Shrader, David and Beverly Cox, Tommy and Cynthia Cox, Danny Martin, as well as a large extended family of countless cousins, nieces and nephews from all over the United States.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Marchell Peck; parents, William S. and Nannie B. French; two sisters, Geraldine Gibson and Cecille Newsome; and brother in-law Bill Newsome.
A Celebration of Life for Nancy will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Advantage Funeral Home, located at 500 Harbins Road, Lilburn, GA 30047. Family and friends may gather at 11:00 a.m. with the service beginning at approximately 11:30 a.m.
