Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Bob lived in Kentucky as a young child. He moved with his parents and sister to Orlando, Florida. Went to University of Florida, served in the U.S. Army for 2 years and graduated from college afterwards. He started a long career with Retail Credit Company (Now Equifax), where he met his wife Joyce. They married in 1956, had 2 daughters, Kim and Lisa in Orlando. They moved to Knoxville, Tennessee, where third daughter Lori was born. The family then moved to Columbia, Tennessee where they lived for 6 years and in 1969, moved to Decatur, Georgia. Bob enjoyed boating and camping with his family for many years on Lake Lanier. There are many happy memories from good times with family and friends boating over the years. In 1978, they moved to Gwinnett County where they built a new home that had better access to the Lake where they continued to enjoy houseboating. Another hobby Bob loved was building and flying model airplanes. He participating in a couple of flying clubs after he retired.
Over the years, the family had many dogs, which was Joyce’s passion. When they were both retired, this passion turned to involvement with Sheltie Rescue and resulted in fostering 30+ dogs throughout this period. They ended up adopting 5 of their fosters and they became beloved members of their family. Bob really enjoyed interacting and walking their often large dog family and decided to get an RV so they could easily travel and camp with their dogs.
Bob loved being with family and friends and any gathering where he was surrounded by both made him happy. We have many fond memories of these gatherings in photos we are sharing here today.
So many happy memories in a lifetime of 87 years, including those who left us earlier.
