Arthur E. Verdon, age 92, died on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Grand Strand Regional in Myrtle Beach, SC.
He was born on November 9, 1927 in the Bronx, NY to Arthur and Anna (Griffin) Verdon. He grew up in the Bronx and later moved to Catskill, NY with his wife, Virginia, where they raised their three children, Isabella, Robert, and Catherine. Later in life he moved to North Myrtle Beach, SC to enjoy his retirement years. He was a member of the United States Navy and proudly served his country during WWII. He then worked as a truck driver for 44 years. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion, Post 186. Arthur cherished his family and enjoyed spending his time with all immediate and extended family for Sunday dinners, family reunions, and holidays. He loved to chug a glass of wine, even if he didn’t like it. He enjoyed watching JAG and NCIS. Arthur loved his wife and always referred to her as “the love of his life”. Arthur was known for his sweet nature and comedic quips. If someone said “It’s nice to meet you” he’d reply with “What’s so nice about it?”
