

Bobby Val Berry, age 94, passed away peacefully in Little River, Sorth Carolina, surrounded by family, on January 4, 2026. Born in Flint, Michigan, on June 27, 1931 to Leroy (Bus) Berry and Pansy (Becky) Berry. Bob lived a life defined by service, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to his family.
A proud veteran, Bob served in the United States Air Force as a radio repairman during the Korean War. Toward the end of his military service, he was stationed at O’Hare Air Force Base where he met and married the love of his life, Diane Witt, in Cicero, Illinois on March 27, 1954. Together, they shared nearly 72 years of marriage.
Bob dedicated 30 years of his professional life to General Motors. After retiring, he and Diane relocated to the Carolina Shores, North Carolina area, where they have been active members of the community for over two decades.
An avid sportsman, Bob spent his days on the golf course and at the bowling alley. He was a lifelong, passionate supporter of the University of Michigan and rarely missed a Saturday cheering for his beloved Wolverines. Bob often remarked that he lived "like a King," embracing every moment with a spirit of joy. Attending Drum Corp events around the country was a true passion, which filled his life with music. He truly never met a stranger and will be remembered for his ability to fill a room with love and laughter.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Stephen Berry and sister Billie Darling Millhouse. He is survived by his devoted wife, Diane; his daughter, Vicki Berry Lincoln son-in-law, Floyd Lincoln, nephew Richard Prykop, special family Graham, Stacy, Harper, and Scarlett Sturgeon, Floyd “Other” Seder, special cousin Gregory Wilcox, and a community of friends who became family.
The family wishes to thank the many caring and devoted healthcare workers, especially Airene, Terri, Lindsay, and Sheba for their loving service to Bob and the entire family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to your local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post.
