

Carson was raised in Aynor and graduated from Aynor High School in 1964. He went on to attend Clemson University, where he graduated in 1969. After college, Carson began a career in education, serving as both a teacher and administrator with Horry County Schools. His entrepreneurial spirit later led him into business, where he founded Hardwick’s Beverage Mart and Hardwick’s Restaurant Supplies which he operated for over 40 years before passing the torch to his son, Brad. Carson later opened and operated the beloved Saltwater Grille which is still operating today.
Carson had a deep love for Clemson football and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the Tigers. He also enjoyed boating and spending time with his family. A fan of beach music, Carson loved shag dancing in Ocean Drive, where he shared many joyful memories with family and friends. He was Mason, Shriner and a past master of Grand Strand Lodge 392.
He is survived by his children, Brad Hardwick (Kim) and Christy Sexton (Tony); his grandchildren, Will, Bailey, Myatt, Hayden, Hayes and Ana. He is also survived by the following: Paddi Childers (significant other) her children, Christy Davis, Raegan Childers (Chris) and Allen Davis, as well as her grandchild Ramsey and her great-grandchild Shepard, JoAnn Berry (the mother of his children) his sister Connie Hardwick and his nieces Jamey and Jordan Hicks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Easmon and Eunice Hardwick; his sister, Linda Tilton; and his wife, Linda Hardwick.
Carson will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his community, and the joy he found in good music and good friends.
The family kindly asks that those attending services wear orange, purple, or white in honor of Carson’s beloved alma mater, Clemson University. The family would also like to extend their sincere appreciation to Mrs. Deb Cramer (his care giver) Tracy Spivey and Ailene (his Agape Hospice Nurses) for they were all truly angels from above.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital or Agape Care of South Carolina in memory of Carson Hardwick.
Visitation will be held at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory, 11840 Hwy 90, Little River, SC, on March 11, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place on March 12, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory 11840 Hwy 90 Little River, SC 29566.
Burial will be at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens, 65 SC Highway 90, Little River, South Carolina 29566, on March 12, 2026.
