Catherine Gira, age 75, of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024. Born on August 17, 1949 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of Robert C. Curry and Catherine S. Rosa.
Cathy grew up in Dubois, PA and spent most of her life living in Peters Township, PA. After retirement, she and John moved to Tidewater Plantation in North Myrtle Beach, SC. She loved her career in pediatric nursing and spent her free time painting, doing crafts and reading. Most important for Cathy was family and spending as much possible time with them.
Survivors include her loving husband John Gira; son, Brian Gira; sister, Mary Beth Barnhart; grandchild, Hunter Osterweil.
She is preceded in death by her son Christopher Gira and brother Robert Curry
A memorial service will be held private with the family.
In lieu of flowers the family would like memorials to be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
