Darlene M. Murphy

Darlene M. Murphy, 67, passed away at home surrounded by love on August 22, 2018.

She was a loving wife, mother, Mimi, daughter, aunt and a caring compassionate friend to all.

Born July 1, 1951 in Poughkeepsie, NY she was the daughter of Lionel and Nancy Bishop. She graduated Class of 1969 from Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park, NY. On July 12, 1970 she married her husband, Franklyn C. Murphy, Jr. and later had two children, Tammy J. Murphy and Lance M. Murphy. While living in NY, Darlene worked as the Residency Coordinator for St. Francis Hospital until moving to the beach in 1999. Before retiring, she was employed by Elliott Beach Rentals as a Vacation Rental Director.

Darlene enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. She and her husband were active members of Beach House H.O.G. #2495. Darlene was a friend to all and her presence filled the room with laughter.

In addition to her husband and two children, Darlene is survived by her mother, Nancy N. Bishop; her sister-in-law, Carol Huckell; and niece Katherine Fazzinga. She is also survived by the lights of her life, her three grandchildren, Meghan E. Vigliotti, Alyssa M. Murphy and Darren T. Cook and her beloved Rottie, Harley.

The family will receive friends to celebrate Darlene’s life at Lee Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 28th at 1:00 pm.
