Donald James Smith

Donald James Smith, age 84, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. Born on August 24, 1939 in Denver, Colorado, he was the son of the late James and Rita Smith.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over 60 years, Elizabeth Ann Smith; children, Felicia Sutton (Tod), Lesley Stewart; grandchildren, Isabelle Sutton, Andrew Sutton, Nicholas Stewart, Julia Stewart.

Originally from Colorado, Donald lived in Memphis, Tennessee, Pass Christian, Mississippi and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He designed and manufactured decorative tile for designer showrooms. Donald was very creative. He loved landscaping and taking on home renovation projects.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1100 8th Ave N, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Father Patrick – Mission in Nigeria. Checks may be made payable to OLSS with memo “PAX Nigeria”. Lee Funeral Home and Crematory of Little River, South Carolina is serving the family.
