

Dorothy Wise “Dottie” Morgan, 77, of North Myrtle Beach, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. She died at home following an illness and was surrounded by her family.
Born in Greenwood, SC on October 23, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Robert D. Wise and Dorothy Harrelson Wise.
She was a graduate of Kubasaki High School in Okinawa, Japan. She returned to the United States to attend Lander College in Greenwood, SC. After receiving her Master’s Degree, she began a teaching career of 30 years in Horry County, starting at Longs Middle and then at North Myrtle Beach Middle. She taught Language Arts, Journalism and other subjects, but South Carolina History was near and dear to her heart. After retirement she continued to help her husband with his business, Timmy Morgan Landscaping, and took great delight in becoming a full time Grandma. She was best known for entertaining friends with her stories about teaching, family, and life experiences.
Mrs. Morgan is predeceased by her beloved husband Timothy Grey “Timmy” Morgan of North Myrtle Beach. She is survived by three sons, Wayne Morgan (Kendra) of Lexington, Lex Morgan of North Myrtle Beach, and Pete Morgan of North Myrtle Beach; three daughters, Barbara Morgan (David) of Murrells Inlet, Rosie Morgan (Christina) of Longs, and Julie Morgan of Little River; 11 grandchildren, Dr. Loren Morgan, Thad Morgan, Richard Beckham, Kelci Morgan, Marcio Almeida, Brandon Almeida, Madeline Morgan, Emily Morgan, Kaleigh Morgan, Christian Almeida and Lexi Morgan; and five great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 6, at 6:30 p.m., at Lee Funeral Home & Crematory of Little River. Friends and family will be received at the Morgan Home at 1306 Edge Drive, NMB following the service.
