I couldn’t figure out what in the world was wrong with me this last week, and then realized it was the anniversary of you going to heaven. 
I thought the more time passed the more normal it would feel without you here, but it’s actually quite opposite. The older I get, the more I wish I had you to call for advice taking on adult life… I know this is a tribute to you, but I like to pretend you’re reading these too. Life without you hasn’t gotten any easier, and I miss you more now than ever. Stay as beautiful as always, I can’t wait to see you again❤️ I. Really. Realllllly. Miss you.

We sold the house. The house you raised your children in, and eventually helped one of your children raise their child, me. It’s not the expensive items that may have value that I want. But what I can’t stop crying over tonight is the little insignificant things to everyone else, but to me they are everything. The children’s dictionary on the book shelf. Your hand written address book I used to use to use the house phone. The boxes of every holiday filled with decor with your hand written “thanksgiving” or “Christmas” that you used to make me get down and decorate with you EVERY single holiday. The little small dinner bell we got you because you used to yell our names every night for dinner SOOOO obnoxiously that we would rather have heard a bell ring. Some of your favorite books because you never went a day without reading. (Also I call dibs on your recipe book if I find it!)… I could go on and on, but it breaks my heart because I will NEVER forget you, but EVERYTIME I go to that house I see something that brings back a memory I had forgotten happened. And I am so scared this is the end of finding those memories. And those were my HAPPIEST memories. You were my BEST friend. I miss you every. Single. Day. You were so much more than my grandmother. I wish I could give you everything you ever gave me. But I’ll see you again one day. I miss you everyday, but tonight’s a little different. I wish you could meet Landon, his dads from Japan. I wish you could tell him all of your stories about living overseas. I wish I could hear the stories again. You’d love him and he would have loved you (a quote from the PT book). I miss you so much. I love you

It feels like just yesterday I was coming home to my favorite person in the world cooking dinner, telling endless stories and simply being my bestest friend in the whole world. As the date arrives of her passing I struggle knowing she is no longer here, but I am forever thankful I had such a powerful amazing woman to look up to and have by my side for all of the years I did. I wish I could take her to her weekly hair appointments again so I could tell her how beautiful she looked, or panic in the grocery store because I can't find the weird ingredient for whatever dinners she had planned for the week and call her so she could tell me which aisle to go to  ( stilllll wish I could call her in the dang grocery stores when I am lost ).. or just call her in general. I dont think I ever went longer than a day without speaking to her and that is the hardest part of her being gone. I miss her sweet smile and her loving heart. Her endless amounts of wisdom no matter the situation. Running into her students no matter WHERE we went. Going to all of her breakfast groups every week and hanging with the "old folk".. I just miss her so much and get so teary eyed when I think back to how lucky we all were to have her in our lives. I could type for hours but I needed to express some things I was feeling before I have a whole mental breakdown at work. Love you forever and always Grandma. I think you'd be so proud of all of the people you left behind and I hope to see you again one day. God bless you forever. We miss you :( But my heart is no longer heavy knowing you are no longer in pain. You will NEVER go forgotten and I will never ever go a day without you in my heart. I love you so so so so so so much.
