Gary Wayne Sheets

Gary Wayne Sheets, age 76, of Little River, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his family and friends. Born on July 6, 1949 in Washington, North Carolina, he was the oldest son of the late Carl J. and Della M. Sheets.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marianne Allabach Sheets; brother, Mike Sheets (Teresa); sisters, Wanda Gomez, Sandy Robertson (Doug), DeeDee Applegate (Scott), Paula Gauthier (Jim); sister-in-law, Mimi Sheets; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, along with his brother, Paul Sheets.

Gary was a devout Christian and member of Foundations Church in Little River. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving four years including two tours in Vietnam and one combat tour. Gary moved to the Carolina Coast in 1978, where he enjoyed boating, fishing and just being by the water.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date by the Sheets family. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Foundations Church, 350 Highway 90 East, Little River, SC 29566.
