Husband of the late Vivian Donlon.
James was born in Newark, NJ on December 7, 1945. Son of the late James and Catherine (Ward) Donlon.
He was a retired firefighter from Newark City Fire Department and a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
He is survived by two sons; James L Donlon, Jr. (Jeanine) and Jeffrey Donlon (Stephanie)
Six grandchildren; Emmy, Molly, Peter, Bridget, Timothy, and Margaret.
A blessing service for James will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1100 8th Ave N, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582.
