James F. Mulligan

James “Jay” F. Mulligan, age 71, of Little River, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025. Born on August 12, 1953, in Bayonne, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Francis and Anne Marie Mulligan.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Napolitano; sisters, Ann Marie Mulligan, Jane Recktenwald; cousin, Margaret Candura. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graduate of Bayonne High School, Jay continued to further his education by attending various technical training programs which led him to a successful career with Verizon in New Jersey. Jay had a passion for sports. He was an avid golfer, Yankee fan and a major football fan. The New York Giants and the Miami Dolphins were his favorite teams. Jay was also a Top Dog member of the Kennel Club Golf League.

Jay had a soft spot in his heart for animals. He loved his canine companions Tiger and Sophia. Jay was always first to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Many of his neighbors depended on him and he enjoyed being there to assist them. He often took lead in raising funds for charitable organizations by hosting golf tournaments over the years.

A prayer service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM.
