James Baumann Shepherd

SEPTEMBER 23, 1952 – DECEMBER 27, 2017

James Baumann Shepherd (Jim/Jimbo), 65, passed from this life on December 27, 2017 at McLeod Seacoast Medical Center. Jim was born in Ft. Myers, Florida on September 23, 1952 and grew up and attended schools in Charlotte, North Carolina. He worked many years in Charlotte in the heating and air conditioning business and then moved to the Myrtle Beach area in the 1980’s and continued in that line of work.

He was preceded in death by his parents James Franklin Shepherd in 1989 and Susie Baumann Shepherd in 2005.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 34 years, Joyce D. Shepherd of Little River, SC and son Tyler Shepherd of Charleston, SC and granddaughters Emerson Lily and Sophia Naja Shepherd and son Chad Shepherd of Surfside Beach, SC and grandson Silas Shepherd.

He is survived by his sister, Sue Ann Shepherd Hixson of Searcy, AR and six nieces and nephews and a faithful canine companion, Phoebe.

Jim was loved and will be missed by his many friends. He was a member of the Lakeside Baptist Church in N. Myrtle Beach, SC where a memorial service will take place on January 20, 2018 at 1 pm. The family will receive friends following the service.
