

James “Jim” Victor Winkeljohn, 81, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, after a six-year battle with Parkinsons. Jim was born April 6, 1946, in Lima, Ohio to Harry and Eleanor (Knapke) Winkeljohn, who preceded him in death. Jim was a 1963 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School and Ohio Northern University. Jim had been a member of St. Gerald’s Catholic Church before moving to South Carolina where he was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Jim retired from BP.
Jim is survived by his sisters, Mary (Don) Angel of Little River, SC, Susan (Dan) Plummer of Ada, Ohio and a brother, Jerry (Kathleen) Pulskamp of New Bremen, Ohio; nephews, Tommy (Malinda) Winkeljohn, Tony Winkeljohn of Lima, Jeff (Marinda) Angel of Little River, SC, Chris (Laura) Plummer of Willow Spring, NC, Steve (Mary) Pulskamp and a niece Carol (Pulskamp) Stape of New Bremen, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Winkeljohn, Richard Winkeljohn, a sister-in-law, Joyce Winkeljohn, and a niece Linda Pulskamp.
Arrangements are being handled by Lee Funeral Home in Little River, SC with Funeral Mass being held at Our Lady Star of the Sea, North Myrtle Beach. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Gerard’s Catholic Church or Lima Central Catholic High School.
