Jeffrey D. Linta

In Loving Memory of the most Dynamic, Loving Husband, Father and Friend. Jeff was born in Mansfield, OH. He was the son of the late John and Jean Tschappat Linta.

Jeff was a world-class pole-vaulter. In high school, he won 2 Class AA State pole Vault Championship. Set the High school record in 1969 and in 1970 won the Ohio Classic. Jeff also was inducted into the Hall of fame at Mansfield City Schools. As a sophomore at Ohio State University Jeff won the Big Ten Indoor Pole Vault Championship. He enjoyed fishing for the big one offshore but most of all loved entertaining at his home and cooking a feast for everyone who came!!!! He had the most giving heart and was always helping people, whatever the need. Jeff was the coach for the Pole Vaulters at North Myrtle Beach. As a Man who worked with his hands, Jeff continued his father’s legacy in the construction business. He was the owner of Jeff Linta Roofing and Construction.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Cynthia Sluss Linta; son Jeffrey D. Linta, II; and his daughter, Lauren Linta.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Lee Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive family and friends after the service.

Memorials may be made to the NMB Humane Society in Jeff’s name.
