He had a way of living that was all his own. Joe had a laugh that could fill a room and a sense of humor that made everyone around him smile. He was a 1998 graduate of Eastern Technical High School in Essex, MD where he found his calling for painting cars. He had a natural talent as an auto body painter, and over time, he became a custom car painter who could make any car look like pure art. He especially loved sports cars – he owned various sports cars over the years, each one customized to make it uniquely his own. He was also a big sports fan, cheering on Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts and rooting for the Baltimore Orioles every baseball season.
Joe loved being outdoors, especially on the water. A Maryland guy at heart, some of his happiest times were on the Chesapeake Bay, spending long days fishing and crabbing. He made tons of family memories in Ocean City, MD year after year. These trips were full of laughter, crab feasts, swimming in the ocean and jet skiing on the bay. After moving to South Carolina, he discovered a love of bass fishing, adding new adventures to a lifetime of time on the water.
Surviving in addition to his parents, are his sons, Peyton Dolan, Kayden Smith; sister, Bridget Sharp (Josh); niece, Katie Sharp; and nephew, Gavin Sharp; as well as numerous aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory, 11840 Highway 90, Little River, SC.
