Larry Wayne Klotz, 72, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, in Little River, South Carolina. Though he lived in South Carolina for the past three years, Waldorf, Maryland was where he called home.
Born on March 27, 1953, in Washington, DC, Larry was the son of Arthur Klotz, Sr. and Mildred Klotz. He built a long and dedicated career at Ourisman Chevrolet, where he worked for more than 20 years.
Larry was married to his beloved wife, Catherine Jacqueline Klotz, for 26 years. He was a devoted husband who found great joy in life’s simple moments, especially playing bass guitar while watching Jackie dance. Whether playing in bands or enjoying listening to others perform, music was a constant in his life, and through it he formed many lasting friendships.
He loved his family fiercely and his pride in them was constant and unmistakable.
Known for his witty, good-natured stubborn streak, Larry had a personality that was both steady and warm. He was a loyal fan of the Washington Redskins and had a special devotion to his beloved fur babies, who brought him endless happiness.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Jacqueline Klotz; his daughter, Tara Andrews and her husband Rob; his son, Wayne Murdoch and his wife Edna; his grandchildren, Nick and Emily Andrews, and Kristin Sutton; and his great-grandchild, Aria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Klotz, Sr. and Mildred Klotz; his sister, Joan Vanover; and his brother, Arthur Klotz, Jr.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date in Maryland.
Larry will be remembered for his humor, his loyalty, his deep love for his family and friends, and the music and joy he brought into the lives of those who knew him.
