Loretta "Lori" E. Hancock

Lori was born on November 8, 1934 in Garfield NJ. Daughter of German immigrants the late Helmut and Lisbeth Reinhold.

She was the devoted wife to William “Bill” Hancock and loving mother of William “Billy” Hancock and Cary Hancock. Lori and Bill were married in Manassas Va. 69 years ago.

In addition to being a mother and homemaker, Lori had a career as a book keeper for Channel Lumber, Creative Home Interiors, and Cowne and Weybright Insurance Agency. After retiring in 2002, Lori and Bill moved to the Myrtle Beach area, where they came for a second honeymooned in 1956, joining old friends and making new ones. Mahjong and card games with friends were weekly events, that Lori often spoke of.

Lori enjoyed traveling with Bill, and going to many world-wide locations. They cruised with friends and family seeing the sights and enjoying local cuisine. The annual spring trips to Cancun were a gathering of friends that Lori looked forward too.

Lori became a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.

In addition to her husband Bill, Lori is also survived by two sons; William R. Hancock and Cary J. Hancock (Elizabeth). Two grandsons; Garrett Hancock and Joseph Hancock.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory, 11840 Hwy 90, Little River SC. A prayer service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1100 8th Ave. N., North Myrtle Beach SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach.
