Formerly of Charlestown, MA, Springfield, VA, and Hudson, MA, Peggy was born in Boston, MA on November 10, 1937 at 11:55 p.m.--just five minutes shy of Veterans/Armistice Day--to Margaret I. Noyes of Charlestown, MA. The move to Longs, SC was precipitated by a record breaking snowstorm in 2006.
Peggy retired from the FBI Boston Field Office in March 2001, and was asked to return for two more years after September 11th. While living in Virginia, Peggy volunteered for the National Park Service, the White House, and learned sign language to help the hearing impaired. Peggy was active in Our Lady Star of the Sea Ladies Guild, and volunteered in the gift shop. Peggy's hobbies included dancing, especially Zumba, traveling, painting, reading, and politics.
Peggy and her husband, Jim, loved to travel which included all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and South America. One of Peggy's favorite trips was Alaska, where they flew in several helicopters, seaplanes (viewing the bears eating salmon), riding and driving dog sleds on top of a glacier, and flying in a Piper Cub, glider, and balloons. The only ride Peggy did not have the opportunity to experience was to go up in a blimp. Believe us! If she had the opportunity, Peggy would have done it.
Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and dedicated her life to her family. Peggy was married to her late husband, Jim, for 66 years. She is survived by her six children, James, David (Debra), John, Kevin (Angelo), William, and Patricia, grandchildren; David Jr. (Abby), Natalia (Benjamin,), Javier (Lorena), Phillip, Patrick (Darren), Daniel, Ryan, Brendan, Joseph, and Denise (Jacob), along with many loving great-grandchildren and many cousins.
Visitation is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Our Lady Star of the Sea, North Myrtle Beach, SC. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Peggy's internment will be located at St. John's Cemetery, Hopkinton, MA to be reunited with her mother, date to be determined.
Donations in honor of Peggy Wicker can be made to either Our Lady Star of the Sea or your local animal humane society.
