

Matthew Alexander Pineda, age 38, passed away unexpectedly on June 4, 2025, after suffering from serious illnesses for much of his life. He died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Little River, South Carolina.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 15 years, Amber Lynn Pineda. He is also survived by his loving parents, Victor Hugo and Janice Pineda and his maternal grandfather, Robert A. Murray, Jr. Matthew comes from a very large family and is survived by many aunts, uncles and numerous cousins. From Amber’s family, he is survived by many in-laws, including Amber’s parents and siblings. He has countless friends from work, school and social circles. Matthew was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Victor Manuel and Carlota Pineda, his maternal grandmother Roberta Joyce Murray, and Amber’s stepmother Micherle Lynn Wallace.
Matthew attended the Culinary Institute of America in New York. He was an accomplished chef and training to become a sommelier. He dreamed of opening his own restaurant prior to the onset of his health issues. Other passions included family time, fishing, and video gaming. He was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and Washington Redskins. Every Christmas wish list included anime comic books and figurines. Matthew was never happier than when he and Amber and his beagle, Paxton, were together.
A visitation for Matthew will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:15 PM, followed by a prayer service at 2:30 PM. The Pineda family kindly requests for those attending to not wear formal attire.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Lupus Foundation of America.
