

Maurice E. DeMontigny passed away at home, in Longs, SC surrounded by his family on January 28, 2021.
He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth DeMontigny; Jacqueline Rauh and her husband Ted; and his brother Joseph DeMontigny; and many nieces and nephews. His wife Madeleine (Vincent) of 67 years, predeceased him as did his nine brothers and sisters.
He was the youngest of eleven in a devout family of music lovers and cooks. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School, Class of 1949; and American International College in 1967. He was employed at the City of Springfield for 47 years, and for most of his career was the Water Registrar. He was also an adjunct professor of Accounting at Western New England College and American International College in Springfield, MA.
In 2008, he professed his final vows to the Order of St. Dominic and received membership in the 3rd Order. Throughout his lifetime he served on numerous boards and volunteered serving the less fortunate and delivering the Eucharist to the sick and the needy. He will be remembered for his strong faith, his devotion to his family, his ready smile, his encouraging words; and his pies.
A memorial service will be held at a later time in Springfield, MA.
