Nancy Carol Jackson

Nancy Carol Jackson, age 69, of Little River, South Carolina passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at McLeod Loris Hospital in Loris, South Carolina. Born on October 27, 1953 in Cortland, New York, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Beverley Gannon.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 46 years, Leonard “Lenny” Jackson; daughter, Melissa Jackson Lindsey (Eric); son, Bryan Jackson (Amanda); grandchildren, Devan Jackson, Ayla Jackson, Annsley Jackson; brother, David Gannon (Julie); special friends, Daryl Reynolds, Fran Reynolds, Ginny Jenkins, Mark Millsick, Cherlynn Millsick, Robert Bullock, Carleen Bullock, Kenneth Smith, Sandy Smith; along with her canine companion, Remington. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents along with her son, Daniel Paul Jackson and her brother, Richard Gannon.

Originally from New York, Nancy and her husband Lenny relocated to South Carolina in 2020. Throughout her life, Nancy worked as a teacher at Owego Elementary School for 26 years in New York. Her successful career in education was truly her calling and passion. In her younger years, Nancy was quite the athlete. She was a very talented volley ball player and she had a lifelong love for the game of golf. Nancy also loved to sightsee and explore. She had an appreciation for long car rides, seeking places she had not yet seen. Not only did she adore her family, Nancy was also a woman of faith. Nancy was a devout Christian who prioritized and cherished her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. After moving to South Carolina, Nancy and Lenny became members of Grace Christian Fellowship Church in Little River.

A funeral service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Grace Christian Fellowship Church. Interment will immediately follow the service at the church cemetery.
