

Phyllis Edge Hardee, 83, of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026. Born on September 3, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Myrtle Chestnut Edge. She lived a long and meaningful life devoted to her family and community.
Phyllis grew up by the beach where the rhythm of the waves seemed to mirror her steady, enduring spirit, a place she always held close to her heart. Alongside her husband, Billy Hardee, she built a life grounded in hard work and shared dreams together they owned and operated, Hardee Bros. Concrete, Billy the Kid’s, and Myrtle Beach Speedway. She was widely known for her loving, caring, and motherly nature, as well as her strength and resilience.
Phyllis will be remembered for her tireless work ethic, her unwavering love for her family, and the way she made everyone feel welcome, whether gathered around her table or simply in her company. Her life was a testament to dedication, partnership, and the enduring power of love.
She is survived by her husband, Billy D. Hardee; son, Gregg Hardee; grandchildren, Brett Hardee and Austin Hardee; sisters, Iris Bradshaw and Marvianne Wright; brother, Michael Edge; sister-in-law, Pam Little; and her nieces and nephews: Sarah Bradshaw (Hal), Sandy McLain (Jim), Steve Bradshaw (Kathleen), Justin Wright, Chris and Casey Ward, Ashleigh and Drew Little, Sarah Frelick, Shawn Bellamy and Kurt Hardee.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jarrett Hardee, nephew, Jonathan Wright, brother-in-law Keith Hardee and sister-in-law LeJeune Ward.
Visitation will be held at Living Water Baptist Church, 1569 Hwy 9 E, Longs, SC 29568, on April 20, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location on April 20, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
Burial will take place at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens, 65 SC Highway 90, Little River, South Carolina 29566, US, on April 20, 2026.
