Ralph M. Cretella

A graduate of Conard High School, W. Hartford, Ralph attended Central Connecticut State University, New Britain, before obtaining his business degree from Morse School of Business, in Hartford. On October 11, 1975, Ralph married Shirley Devanney in Wethersfield, CT and the two made their home in Newington.

Ralph retired in 2008 following a lengthy career with the Division of Special Revenue in IT Management. After his retirement, he and Shirley moved to Little River, SC in 2009 and became members of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. An expert in computers, even after he retired, Ralph continued working with computers and technology. Ralph was an avid golfer and was a sports enthusiast. He had an affection for dogs, and he loved them no matter the breed or size. Stella his “shish-poo” was their current four-legged dog.

Surviving in addition to his wife Shirley are brothers, Michael Cretella, Anthony Cretella; sisters-in-law, Sandra Fyler (husband, Mike), Beverly Lanoie (husband, Raymond); niece, Karen Small; nephews, Kevin Fyler, Jay Salvatore and James Salvatore along with their families. Ralph was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charles and Stella Devanney.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Lee Funeral Home and Crematory, 11840 Highway 90, Little River, SC 29566 is assisting the family.
