Raymond E. Ernst

Raymond E. Ernst, died at McLeod Seacoast Hospice, Little River, SC, on Sunday, December 13, 2020.

Ray was born August 18, 1953, in Albany, NY, the son of the late Albert O. and Frances A. (Gaddor) Ernst.

He worked for NYS DMV for 17 years, then as a Derrick Boat Captain on the DB-4 for the NYS Canal Corporation, often saying it was his dream job. He retired in 2010 and followed his sister to Little River.

Ray enjoyed casino slots and the casino boat in Little River. He also liked NCIS, computer games, the NY Yankees, the NFL, and was a 200-average bowler in his earlier years.

Survivors include his sister, Patricia R. (Christopher H.) Pelton, Little River, SC; brother, Albert A. (Jane) Ernst, St. Petersburg, FL; niece, Christine Ernst-Yoncko of Ravena, NY; and nephew, Joseph Ernst of South Bethlehem, NY. He was predeceased by his niece Michele L. Pelton, who called him Uncle Raaay whenever he teased her, which he did a lot.

He will be cremated and interred next to his parents in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont, NY, next summer.
