Richard R. Bashant

Richard R. Bashant, age 81, of Little River, South Carolina passed away on March 4th, 2025. Richard is survived by the love of his life, Pauli Bashant and his children, Denise Duffy, Cheryl Bashant, Richard Bashant (Jennifer), Bret Bashant (Lisa), Katie Bashant (Bryan), Amanda Bashant, his loving grandchildren, and his great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Michele Bashant. Richard was a proud husband, father, Pop Pop, retired Navy Veteran, and retired police officer. He was raised in Tarrytown, New York. He served two terms in the United States Navy. After serving his time, he spent the next 20 years as a police officer before retiring. On any given day he would be found gardening, planting, mowing, and helping his neighbors. He shared many incredible memories crabbing and fishing with his family. He was the most incredible patriarch and supported each one in following their dreams. His love was unconditional. He loved cooking with his best friend, the matriarch, his baby, Pauli. They loved having their family all together and always tolerated every practical joke. His legacy will live on through every single person that has had the fortune of being a part of his life.

A prayer service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory. Lee Funeral Home and Crematory of Little River is serving the family.
