Richard Carl Long Jr.

Richard Carl Long, Jr., age 48, of Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2025. Born on April 3, 1976, in Horry County, South Carolina, he was the son of Richard C.” Ricky” Long, Sr. and the late Donna Bosquet Thomas.

He is survived by his father, Ricky Long; children, Richard C. “Rick Rick” Long III, Elijah Thomas Long, Selena Carter (Chae); sister, Kala Long Landrum (Matt); granddaughters, Emma and Harper Carter; stepmother, Toni Long Caudle (Rodney); maternal grandparent, Hilda Bosquet; aunts, Tonya Bosquet Woodcock, Betty Biddle and Kathy Saunders; uncles, Jr Bosquet and Paige Bosquet; niece, Navy Landrum, along with several cousins

He is preceded by his grandfather Frank Bosquet and grandparents Sally and Lawrence Long, Sr.

Richard was a family man who absolutely adored his children. He cherished each moment spent with all of his loved ones. Richard was always ready to lend anyone in need a helping hand and he will forever be remembered as such a kind soul.

A passion for fishing started at a very young age with his father. Richard received his USCG 100-ton Master License and was a 3rd generation fisherman in Little River. An avid sports fan, Richard loved both Basketball and Football. He enjoyed coaching young children at the NMB recreation center. His favorite teams were the UNC Tarheels, the Dallas Cowboys and the Charlotte Hornets.
