Affectionately known as “Dick “ or “Dickie”, he was born on August 19, 1950 in Erie, PA. He was the son of the late Richard Vincent and Elsie Donna (Curry) Mahon.
Dickie was a graduate of Harborcreek High School in 1968 where he was a county wrestling champion, and he did his best to be a familiar face at every 5 year reunion. In his younger years, Dickie enjoyed snow skiing and was a member of the ski patrol at Peek’n Peak, and was also a certified scuba diver. He was an avid golfer enjoying time on courses with his golfing buddies, and was an active employee at Beachwood Golf Course in North Myrtle Beach until the time of his death.
Dick earned an Associate’s Degree from Gannon University in business administration, and spent his entire career in sales. He worked for over 20 years for Pepsi Co. and eventually retired from Kraft Foods in 2010. Following his retirement, he relocated to North Myrtle Beach, SC.
Dick is survived by a long list of close friends, classmates, and work colleagues from both South Carolina and Pennsylvania. Dicks presence will be missed by everyone he had a chance to get to know and all the friends he made during his retirement in South Carolina. He is survived by his only son, Mike Mahon; sister, Kimberly Dukich and her husband Kevin Dukich; ex-wife, Rhonda Teodorski; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister Karen Mahon (d. 2012).
