Richard May, “Rich” went home to his loving Father on October 30, 2024. Richard May, was born on December 19, 1946 to the late Karl and Madge May in Jersey City, NJ. His favorite story about his birth was telling his mother he was a Christmas present to her. His mother’s reply he would state was, “The only problem is I can’t return it!”
Rich was known for his dry sense of humor. He was famous for his one liner on the spot deliveries to situations. His most famous retort was “If you got a problem, FIX it!”
For 40 years, Rich worked as a quality control inspector for Hillcross Co., a plating firm. He was well respected by the customers they served. When problems occurred, the customers would ask to speak with Rich as opposed to the president of the company.
In 1972, Rich met his life-long partner and husband, Raymond at a bar in Newark. They were together as a couple for 44 years and were finally married on November 7, 2016.
Rich is survived by his husband Raymond Zenere, his niece Lorraine Balestracci, her husband Joseph and their son Justin; his God Daughter, Sophia; his nieces, Mary Zenere and her three daughters: Brittny, Kristen, and Katelyn; Denise Bennett, her husband, Joseph, and their son, Joshua; Michelle Horrell and Her husband, John; his sister, Faye; and his nephew Frank Zenere, his wife, Claudia, and their daughters Pilar and Bianca.
