Dick was born in St. Louis, Missouri the last of seven children to Elfrieda Wotka and Armin Schwarz; Emma, Bud, Marianne, Carlos, Russell and Herb.
Dick attended St. Louis schools; graduating in 1956 from Clayton High School. Dick attended University of Missouri and was part of the Fraternity sigma Kai.
Dick had a strong work ethic, beginning work at 12 years old selling newspapers. After graduating with a business degree
Dick work for Sterling International Salt for nearly 30 years.
September 11, 1965 Dick married Toni Jones in St. Louis Missouri. Toni and Richard settled in the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts, where they had a daughter, Tamera and son Richard,Jr.
In 1976 Dick was transferred to the Cleveland Ohio area where the family moved and lived for 12 years in Strongsville. Afterward Toni and Dick then lived in Libertyville, Illinois, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and ultimately retired in Little River, South Carolina.
Dick was an avid golfer for many years playing almost every day.
Dick is predeceased by his wife Toni, his parents, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.
He is survived by a daughter, Tamera, son Richard, grand dog Shiva, four grandsons; Tyler Hinkelman, Jesse Hinkelman, (Maria), Jamye Hinkelman (Laura) and Tate Storch (Chardonnay), sister in laws, Pat Schwarz, Terri Jones-Robbins (Richard), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
