Robert was born in Jersey City, served in the United States Coast Guard, then became a longtime resident of Little Egg Harbor New Jersey where he raised his family. He relocated to Little River, South Carolina when he retired. He was devoted to his family and especially cherished the time spent traveling with them, creating lasting memories together.
Robert was predeceased by his brother Ronald Grodkiewicz, his niece Donna Grodkiewicz, and his beloved granddaughter Lauren Matta
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Linda Grodkiewicz; his daughters, Tracy Matta and her husband Chris, and Kerri Crowley and her husband Josh; and his grandchildren, Dr. Christopher Matta and his wife Nishani, Craig Matta and his wife Sage, Taylor Crowley, Brooke Crowley, and Joshua Crowley. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Paula Grodkiewicz; nieces, Denise Bean, Nichole Trainor; and his nephew, Kevin Grodkiewicz.
