

Dr. Ronald E Allison, age 95, of Stuart, FL, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, in Myrtle Beach, SC following a brief illness. Born on May 30, 1930, in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of the late Harold R. and Helen R. Allison. He was the devoted husband of Ann Marie Allison and Mary Ann Allison.
Surviving is his brother, Weldon (Wally) Allison; his children, Michael Allison (Mary), Glenn Allison (Pam), Joy Adams (Jay), Helen Stamm (Frank); grandchildren, David, Christian, Matthew, Jonathan, Frank, Kristina, Aja; and great-grandchildren as well as his nieces and nephews. He is also survived by stepchildren, Phil Spier (Kim) and Sheri Finn as well as their children, Derek, Sol, Ben, Sam, Amanda, Jennifer, and great-grandchildren.
He graduated from medical school at Duke University where he received his medical degree. After graduation, he married Ann Marie Weaver and the two shared almost 38 years together before her passing in 1993.
Dr. Allison proudly served as a Captain in the US Army as a physician stationed in Germany. Following his Army service, he relocated to Florida where he became a General Practitioner in Family Medicine. He was well known and loved throughout Martin County, FL.
He excelled in sports including golf, bowling, football, and softball. He even had a tryout for the Cleveland Browns during his football days. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved scuba diving, fishing, and hiking. In 1994, he married Mary Ann Spier and the two enjoyed traveling. They visited all seven continents together and were affectionately nicknamed "the wanderers" having later traveled throughout the US and Canada in their RV.
He was a dedicated walker and just days before his passing, Dr. Allison took his last stroll with his daughter Helen and son-in-law, Frank.
Throughout his life, Dr. Allison was very family oriented. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Although many knew him as a great physician, he always placed his family as his first and most important priority.
A Celebration of Life will be held later in Stuart, FL.
