Tracey R Edelen

Tracey Renee Hackworth Edelen, 49 of Longs, SC, formerly of Dunbar, WV, left this life to be with her Lord and Savior on February 27, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter and aunt.

She was preceded by her mother, Sharon G. Hackworth; stepmother Sandra K. Hackworth and uncle James Radford. Tracey is survived by her husband Joshua M. Edelen; son Dylan A. Humphreys; her father, Larry W. Hackworth; mother-in-law Arlene B. Edelen; sisters, Jeannie (Aaron) Mills and Rebecca (Ben) DeVries; aunts Deborah (Richard) Frontz and Judith Radford; uncle Bernard (Sharon) Radford; nephews, Andrew (Emily) Stover, Alec (Sarah) Stover and Joshua Mills; nieces Allison (Austin) Gessel, Kathryn Stover and Mallory Stover.

She was a 1993 graduate of Nitro High School and went on to follow her dream to be a cosmetologist. She loved her time doing hair, making lifelong friends with her coworkers and clientele. Tracey moved to Longs, SC in 2015 to be near her parents and decided to pursue her second dream of becoming a nurse. She earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing in May 2022 while still holding a job and being a devoted wife and mother.

Tracey cared so much for others, making friends with everyone she met. Her dedication to caring for others led to her decision to be an organ donor.

A celebration of life is being planned for a later date in Dunbar, WV.
