Velna Morgan

Velna Morgan, 88, died Saturday, December 24, 2016 at her home.

Born on February 9, 1928 in Salisbury, NC, she was the daughter of the late Monroe Carr and Esther Beck Swicewood. She was the youngest of eight children. Ms. Morgan worked as a Lab Technician at the Celanese Chemical Plant.

Mrs. Morgan is survived by her daughters, Harriet M. Ray of Shelby, NC and Cynthia M. Bonner of Myrtle Beach, SC; seven grandchildren – Amy, Eric, John K., Lauren, Catherine, John V. and Joseph - and four great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Jack Boyd Morgan, whom she married in 1946.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, December 28 at Bible Fellowship Baptist Church. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be on Friday, December 30 at Rowan Memorial Gardens, 4125 Franklin Comm Center Road, Salisbury, NC 28144.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bible Fellowship Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1109, Little River, SC 29566.
