William R. Crosthwait

William “Bill” Russell Crosthwait died on Aug 28, 2021at his home with his beloved wife of 51 years, Antonia Crosthwait, at his side. Bill was born July 20, 1945 in Bloomington, Il to Bruce Russell and Carroll Costigan Crosthwait. William grew up in Houston, TX and graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in electrical engineering. Bill retired after a successful 30 year career with IBM.

After retiring, Bill enjoyed playing golf and organizing golf trips with his buddies at Holly Hills Country Club for many years. Later, Bill became a rule official for the Maryland Atlantic Golf Association, Washington Metropolitan Golf Association and the Middle Atlantic Golf Association. Bill spent many hours volunteering for the Frederick High School Sports Boosters and the St Ignatius of Loyola Church and also co-founded the Frederick Youth Sports Association (FYSA).

Bill had a larger than life personality and loved spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his son, William Anthony Crosthwait, two grandchildren, Brock and Rowan Crosthwait, one sister, Mary Christine and family, one brother, Bruce and family, as well as his nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters in law.

A memorial service will be held for family and friends on October 2, 2021 at 11:00 am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in North Myrtle Beach, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory can be made to Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
