

William Charles "Chuck" Martin III, a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away this month, on June 18th, at his home in Little River, SC. He left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories and will be forever remembered for his warm spirit and dedication to his family and community.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of over 42 years, Lynn Edwards Martin, whom he married in High Point, North Carolina in 1983. His family also includes his brother, Michael Martin, married to Amber; his daughter, Lynnette; and his sons, Shane Martin, married to Leslie, with grandchildren Declan and Leighton, and Miles Martin, married to Ashley, with grandchildren Kaden, Gracelyn, and Nathan. Chuck was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Ligon Martin.
His life was marked by service and passion. He proudly served in the United States Army from June 1973 to June 1976, enlisting in Roanoke, VA, and completing his service at Fort Riley, Kansas. After his military service, Chuck built a successful career as a service director in the automotive industry, where he worked for many years before retiring to enjoy golf, one of many hobbies he was passionate about, at the courses throughout Myrtle Beach. He was also an avid softball player and car enthusiast, always eager to share his passion and knowledge with others.
His family and friends will deeply miss the warmth of his kind heart, his generosity, and his infectious enthusiasm. He always managed to brighten any room he walked into with his larger than life personality and humor. Those of us who knew him are better for it.
