Allan Feid Sr.

Allan was born in Orange, N.J., to August and Mae Feid. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. Upon returning from the war, he started Allan Feid Plumbing in 1955 in Livingston, N.J., and has since successfully passed the business on to his two sons, Allan Feid Jr. and Bob Feid. Allan was past president of the New Jersey Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors (PHCC), past president of Essex County PHCC, past chairman of the New Jersey Board of Master Plumbers, past president of the Rotary Club of Livingston, and a long-standing member of the VFW Post 2856, the Livingston Elks BPOE, and the Masonic Lodge of Livingston.

He was the devoted father of Linda Smith, Debbie (Mike) Havas, Allan Feid Jr., Cindy (Bob) Tilson, and Bob (Nicki) Feid; loving grandfather of Shawn Smith, Brian (Jennifer) Smith, Kevin and Greg Havas, Allan (Cassie) Feid III, John and Tim Feid, Rob (Courtney) Tilson, and Jim and Eric Tilson; adoring great-grandfather of Chad and Beau Smith, and loving brother of the late Philippine Farnsworth and Bert Feid, and his late wife, Lucille. Allan is also survived by his dear friend, Cathy. In lieu of flowers, donations in Allan's name to the Shriners Hospital for Children (www.shrinershospitals.org) would be greatly appreciated.

The family will receive their relatives and friends at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, at 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, N.J., on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral service celebrating Allan's life will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park, at 77 Deforest Ave., East Hanover, N.J.
