Anne M. Fusari

Born and raised in the North Ward of Newark on Lake Street, Anne carried the strength, spirit, and pride of a true Newark girl throughout her life. More than 65 years ago, she and the love of her life made their home on Cobblewood Road in Livingston..her “castle” where she lived out the rest of her beautiful earthly journey, in the very home where her family was born and raised.

Anne married her great love, the late world welterweight contender and boxing champion, Charles “Charley” Fusari. Together they built a beautiful family and a life rooted in devotion, resilience, and unwavering love. When she was widowed at the young age of 53, Anne faced life’s greatest heartbreak with extraordinary courage. As a single mother of three sons : Charles, Mark, and Robert: she thrived as a successful entrepreneur in the beauty industry. A lifelong cosmetician and aesthetician, she built her business with grit, grace, and determination, setting an example of work ethic and perseverance that would forever shape her sons’ lives.

Her strength motivated them to take the bull by the horns in business and in life. She was their compass, their driving force, and their living example that faith, resilience, and hard work conquer adversity. Her motto was simple and unwavering: family is everything.

Music was always woven into the heart of our family, and one song in particular became our quiet anthem ; “Over the Rainbow.” Its message of hope, faith, and believing that somewhere beyond life’s storms there are brighter skies, mirrored the way Mom lived. She believed in tomorrow. She believed in possibility. And now, we imagine her finally over that rainbow reunited with Dad in a place where love is eternal and pain no longer exists.

Anne was blessed to witness so the successes of her sons and the blossoming of her family. She adored her seven grandchildren: Gina, Daniella, Charlie, Marco, Juliano, Alexa Lily, and Nick. Her four great-grandchildren — Adrian, Olivia, Dylan, and Lenox were pure light in her later years. She lived for their visits, their laughter, and their milestones.

She is survived by her loving sons: Charlie and his wife Jill; Mark and his wife Lori; and Robert and his wife Jayne. She also leaves behind her cherished furry companion, Bear, who brought her comfort and joy.

Anne’s legacy is one of love, laughter, strength, respect, resilience, and unshakeable faith. She touched countless lives across her 93-year journey ; through friendship, mentorship, business, motherhood, and simple everyday kindness. To know her was to feel her warmth, her humor, her elegance, and her fierce devotion.

Though our hearts are broken, we are profoundly blessed to have had her for as long as we did. Her spirit lives on in the walls of Cobblewood Road, in the strength of her sons, in the laughter of her grandchildren, and in the faith she carried so gracefully.

Mom; our Queen, our anchor, our forever light ; until we meet again, somewhere over the rainbow.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 4-8 PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Livingston. Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 10:30 AM at St. Philomena's Church, Livingston. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
