He was a resident of Livingston, New Jersey for 23 years. Tony was affectionately known by his family and friends as “Popeye”.
Tony was born on August 13, 1932, in Orange, NJ, to parents, Anthony, Sr. and Lena (Capone) DeMeo. Tony served his country in the Air Force and later worked for the county of Essex, Department of Public Works before retiring at 70 years old.
Tony was known for his steadfast wisdom and generosity. His advice was sought by all who knew him and his thoughtfulness was a source of comfort. Tony’s big heart, larger than life personality, kindness and warmth will remain in our hearts forever.
Tony was preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Rega); son, Domenic; parents, Anthony Sr. and Lena; and his siblings, Francine Recchia, Lenny DeMeo and Freddie DeMeo.
Tony is survived by his daughter, Maria (Scorciolla); son-in-law Arthur; and the grandchildren he adored, Deanna and Louis. He is also survived by his cousin Anthony and many nieces and nephews.
