

Antoinette (Citro) Sisbarro, 83, died peacefully at her home on July 14, 2010 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer three months ago. Her family will be receiving friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be offered at St. Philomena’s Church, 386 S. Livingston Ave., Livingston, on Thursday at 11AM ; the cremation will be private. Antoinette was born in Newark and lived in Livingston and Roseland many years before retiring to the Holiday City section of Toms River in 1986. Until last year, she also maintained a residence in Margate, Florida.
An avid football fan, she loved rooting for the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins. She and her late beloved husband for 59 years, Otto Sisbarro, Jr., enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe; on their 50th wedding anniversary they took their children and grandchildren on a Caribbean cruise during the Chritmas and New Years holidays. Antoinette spent her 80th birthday in Italy. She was also a parishioner of St. Maxmilian Kolbe Church in Toms River.
At Holiday City, she was a member of the Singles Club, the Italian/American Club and the Knitting Club. She participated in many social activities at the clubhouse as well as bus rides to many events in NJ, NY and the PA area. When her children were in school in Livingston she was an active member of the Big L sports booster club. In her earlier years she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elmwood Tigers Civic Association in East Orange.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph and Dominick Citro, Elizabeth Melillo and Marie Russionello.
Surviving are sons Otto Sisbarro III of Pompano Beach, FL, Robert of Dundee, NY and Richard of Clinton, NJ; her daughters-in-law, Nancy and Toni, grandchildren Jennifer Sisbarro Arnold (and her husband Mark), Leanne, Jaclyn and David Sisbarro. Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews and a caring circle of close friends.
