Carmela “Lil” Mensch (nee: Renga), 92, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2012, at the West Caldwell Care Center. Her family will be receiving friends at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on Wednesday, 4-8 PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be offered at St. Rose of Lima Church, 312 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover, on Thursday at 9:45 AM followed by the committal service at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover.
Lil was born in Newark and had lived many years in East Hanover. Very early in her life she was a saleslady at Bamberger’s Department Store in Newark and then as a receptionist for many years for Deuchler Opticians in Summit. Lil was an active member of the East Hanover’s Garden Club and Senior Citizens and was an active volunteer for many charities.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Clarence and her nine siblings, she is survived by her devoted son, William R. and his wife Martha, her loving grandchildren, Ashley, William R., Jr. and Courtney and many loving nieces and nephews.
