

On December 26, 2016, Edward Murray Dim, known to many as Murray Dim, passed away at his home in Scottsdale, Arizona at the age of 93. He was the son of the late Max and Esther Dim. Born in Newark, he lived in East Orange and Livingston for many years. He was a member of the East Orange Fire Department for 30 years. After his retirement he worked as a Court Attendant in the Essex County Court House. Murray was proud to serve our country in the Air Force during World War II serving in India. He was a member of Livingston Masonic Lodge #11, F&AM and maintained a dual membership in the Scottsdale Lodge. Murray was also a volunteer at the Scottsdale Healthcare Hospital.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 71 years, Edie, and two sons, David Martin of Brooklyn and Edward Stephen of Scottsdale. He was predeceased by his sisters Rose Bailin, Belle Dim and brother Sam Dimm.
Visitation will be at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on Tuesday, January 1, 2017, from 7 to 8 PM concluding with the Masonic Service. The committal service conducted by Rabbi Tobin will be on Wednesday at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Gill Lane, Iselin, at 12:30 PM.
